Victor Rogister undoubtedly created the most beautiful Art Nouveau works in Liège.
This house, built in 1905, extends at the corner of two streets, and is distinguished by its white facade very inspired by the Viennese Secession.
The base of the building is made of cut stone and sandstone.
Great unity in the design of the door and window frames, trapezoidal in the upper part.
Small squares of blue ceramic punctuate the facade. Small stained glass windows, also blue, adorn the small wooden frames of the windows.
The corner tower runs from the first floor to the roof, and gives an additional dimension to the building, it ends with a frieze carved with theater “masks”?
Surprising sculpted faces adorn the ground floor.
Mouth-gagged female figures are helmeted and have their eyes closed. Strange message, perhaps coming from Freemasonry of which Victor Rogister was a member.
See here the Piot house, known as the Freemasons.
The entrance door, also very “secessionist”, is remarkably designed and fortunately well preserved.
The whole is in good state of conservation and maintenance.
