A Grand Café, in the Parisian "Belle Epoque" style, was created here by textile manufacturers at the beginning of the 20th century.
The design and woodwork are in the Art Nouveau style, while the large tiled panels that are very present are neo-classical-Renaissance.
They represent hunts with hounds and falcons, with very 17th century riders, on Burgundian landscapes, while the two isolated figures, one holding a masked falcon and the other (a lady) a parrot, rather illustrate the Middle Ages.
The panels are signed Boch Frères La Louvière, the large panels were part of the Boch catalogues, dating from 1896, and were based on drawings by artists such as Georges François De Geetere (Amiens, 1859 - Halle, 1929).
The framing friezes were part of the standardized offers of the Boch Frères house.
The whole is in perfect condition, and has been protected since 2023.
