Architect Jules Hofman, created this house in 1898, in this booming district, where new owners jostled to have innovative, eclectic and extravagant houses built.

This one is particularly interesting for its elaborate ironwork above the first-floor balcony, where a rounded wrought-iron canopy ends in a dozen roses. A wrought iron canopy, now gone, originally adorned the front door.

Also surprising is the stone balcony that looks like it came out of the boxes of Catalan architect Gaudi !
