Large private mansion designed in 1896 by Victor Horta, at the same time as the Van Eetvelde House located on Avenue Palmerston on the opposite.

The client is Georges Deprez, director of Cristalleries du Val st Lambert.

The building forms the corner between avenue Palmerston and rue Boduognat.

It underwent significant modifications in 1910 by a new owner. The architects are M. and R. Genard, they will demolish and rebuild certain parts of the facade and completely review the interior plan.

Of the original building by Horta's hand, the two bays on the left remained on Palmerston, as well as the corner and the central bay with the entrance door on Rue Boduognat,.

The Palmerston façade was transformed by demolishing the neighboring house and removing the bay with entrance door and columned balcony. Horta's style was however respected, basket handle windows, alternating blue and white stone bases.

The rue Boduognat side has been completely revised with the exception of the central span and the remarkable entrance door which has retained all the sculpted stone work typical of Horta.

In 1959, architect Jean Delhaye, after several rejected projects, added a floor to the Palmerston part of 1910, equal to that carried out by Horta.

The interior of the building was completely transformed into office spaces.

This building is nevertheless worth mentioning for the recognizable signature of Horta, even if we can deplore the modifications over the years.

The building (transformed) was listed in 1971, and is in a fairly good state of conservation.
