Within a classic 18th century house, there is an Art Nouveau marvel to discover.
The last heir, Léon Losseau, a lawyer, decided to transform the entire interior and called on the Brussels architect Paul Saintenoy (Old England).
Not only is the decor changing but above all he modernized the building by adding all modern amenities, electricity, central heating, elevator, electric sliding frames...
The most spectacular remains the arrangement of the rooms, and the ornaments entrusted to the best craftsmen of the time: Raphaël Evaldre for the stained glass windows, Henri Pelseneer for the furniture, Daum and Gallé for the decorative objects.
Saintenoy will call on Charles Sarazin, Henri and Louis Sauvage for the plans.
The result is magnificent, custom-designed furniture, integrated lighting in all rooms, marquetry parquet floors, mosaic floors, stained glass windows in the large skylight of the central room.
A perfectly preserved kitchen pantry demonstrates the perfectionism of the architects, everything is thought of and controlled.
The style is strongly inspired by the French Art Nouveau of Nancy, and is wonderful.
The house has been open to the public since 2015.
