Built in 1899, six years before neighboring No. 7, by Henri Jacobs for his personal use.
This robust Art Nouveau facade, with Renaissance reminiscences, in three bays presents a spectacular sgraffito, by Privat-Livemont, on the entablature under the cornice.
Other sgraffiti adorn the facade on the central trumeau and under the windows on the ground floor.
A particularly designed iron railing protects the balcony.
The four windows on the second floor, in pointed arch, still carry the sun visors which were originally decorated with a radiant pattern painting.
The entrance door is adorned with beautiful ironwork which incorporates the door handles, the lock and the mailbox which has retained the name of “H Jacobs-Architecte”.
The facade deserves a restoration.
House listed in September 1996.
