This house was commissioned in 1906 from Jacques Deweerdt by Stella Talkowski, the eldest daughter of the Russian-Polish-Jewish diamond dealer Moïse (Maurice) Talkowsky.

The architect uses here some striking elements of two other houses built in the district, Les Mouettes, Waterloostraat 39 and Huis De Graaf, Schorpioenstraat 17.

An important base in highly sculpted hardstone, a facade covered with sculpted stones from top to bottom, intertwined. Beautiful elaborate woodwork.

A first floor with recessed loggia, balcony with cast iron columns, and refined floral ironwork.

The second floor surmounted by a horseshoe arch, adorned with a ceramic decoration representing a sunrise over a lake, stars including a Star of David, and a young woman holding a large diamond in reference to the origin and the family occupation.

Two lions (a little heavy) hold the wrought iron railing.

The set is in very good condition and has been recently restored.

House listed in 1984.
