Beautiful set of three Art Nouveau style houses with neo-Romanesque and neo-Moorish elements, designed by Joseph Baeckelmans in 1905.
The architect was undoubtedly inspired by the work carried out in the district by the architects Bascourt and Stordiau.
The two side houses follow the same design, with a facade of irregular ashlars, a balcony on the first floor with a window divided into three semi-circular and semi-circular arches, very “Romanesque”.
Both facades end with a flat roof and imposing pilasters.
The central house differs from its neighbors by a work of yellow bricks streaked with strips of blue bricks and white stone. The arched cornice is supported by three elegant wrought iron pieces.
Under the cornice a beautiful frieze made of colored bricks, which is also found between the second and last floor. The tympanums of the upper windows are decorated with floral Art Nouveau mosaics. A mix of decors, materials and styles specific to Antwerp Art Nouveau.
