Amazing eclectic-style corner house with some Art Nouveau elements.
Built in 1913 by the Ostend architect Albert Victor Faber. The Art Nouveau era was coming to an end, just before World War one.
What characterizes this facade is undoubtedly the round corner tower leaning on a three-sided oriel window. Also the magnificent work of alternating red and orange bricks, crossed evoking embroidery patterns.
The name Villa Albert is well highlighted in a typically Art Nouveau cartridge.
Curiously, the main entrance door is small and discreet, surrounded by narrow windows arched in two-tone basket handles.
The facade on the Hofstraat ends with pilasters and an Art Nouveau pediment.
The house has been restored with great care, the replaced joinery respected the original design.
