Born January 6, 1861 in Ghent and died September 8, 1947 in Brussels.
Precursor and founder of Art Nouveau in Belgium, Victor Horta is today recognized and admired throughout the world.
Horta left his mark on the city of Brussels with his particular style, where he created marvels that have now become exceptional places to visit.
During his career, Horta was able to reinvent himself, passing with equal talent from the curves of Art Nouveau to the straight lines of Art Deco, while keeping his very personal style. In 1932 he was ennobled by King Albert I, who conferred on him the title of baron.
